Let’s see…lots of fun, soapy suds, hot weather, water fights, tired out, a great witness, a total blessing, and a creative way to reach out and touch our local neighborhood. All of this describes the Eagle’s Nest Worship Center, totally free, annual Car Wash outreach! On a Saturday every June, we setup the parking lot to wash cars, vans, and trucks…for FREE! Completely and totally free! No donations accepted! We also have grills setup and tables available so that we can feed everyone who comes through to have their vehicle washed…this too all for free! Hot dogs, chips, cookies, and a cold drink are provided to each person while they wait for their vehicle to be washed and dryed. We also have a Prayer Tent available for anyone desiring prayer and we have it staffed with highly dedicated people as we attend to the spiritual needs of our car wash visitors.

Myanmar is a small country next to Thailand from which many people have been fleeing due to political and religious persecution. A large number of these refugees, called the Karen, have relocated here in Omaha, NE. Eagle’s Nest Worship Center is highly involved with a Karen church here, the Karen Christian Revival Church. We have been able to provide practical help in making the transition to Omaha as well as spiritual help through mentoring and preaching at some Karen church services bringing strength, revival, and teaching to this growing local congregation.

“No Trick, We Treat” is an annual neighborhood outreach designed to celebrate the light of Christ and not the darkness inherent in Halloween. The kids of Eagle’s Nest Worship Center dress up in Bible character costumes and go out with their friends, families, and chaperones to visit homes and give out bags of candy that also have information about Eagle’s Nest, a prayer request slip, tracts, and a note saying that we are here to bless them, to be “givers” and not just “takers.” The children knock on the doors and shout: “No trick, we treat!” when the residents answer the door. Then, the bags are presented to the surprised individuals. Our children love No Trick, We Treat, because it is such a shock to the people answering their doors…they don’t expect to be given anything and always receive the children’s bags in the spirit given.

Eagle’s Nest Worship Center honors those who protect and serve our neighborhood by personally visiting and dropping off trays of treats monthly to the men and women of the Omaha Police Department’s Northwest Precinct and the Omaha Fire Department’s Station 41. We appreciate their service and willingness to put their lives on the line to keep our community safe and sound. Our desire is to bless them practically and also to let them know we are praying for them and their families. This is just our way of saying: “thank you for serving!”

Summer Fun Dayz (SFD) is: outrageous, fun, loud, face painting, bike repair, sports, hoop-it-up, wild kids games, makeovers, live music and drama, food, prizes, rocking grandmas and grandpas, even foot massages! We also give away prizes like dishes, sheets, towels, fans, bicycles, footballs, basketballs, and much, much more. At SFD, Eagle’s Nest Worship Center serves over 3,000 free hot dogs and bags of chips. It is also the day that we give away 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to neighborhood children….and right in the middle of 5,000 people from the neighborhood gathering on our parking lot for SFD…we preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, pray for the sick, see miracles take place, and witness hundreds of people born again! SFD is the clearest picture of Pastor Hart’s declaration over Eagle’s Nest: one team, one goal, to make a difference! Several hundred Eagle’s Nest folks serve on more than twenty separate ministry teams to bring SFD to reality. SFD is literally the Kingdom of God in action: sacrificial service, meeting the practical needs of others, preaching the Gospel, lifting up Jesus, being light in the midst of darkness, and changing lives for eternity.

Eagle’s Nest Worship Center has been blessed to have an open door at our neighborhood elementary school whereby we can serve the students and teachers of Wakonda Elementary. What began through the Eagle’s Nest’s children’s pastor walking kids to school at Wakonda in 2002 has blossomed into a yearly opportunity to serve the teachers and students of Wakonda throughout each school year. We have provided hats, gloves, and coats for the children as well as tutoring every week in the after school study center. We also hold an annual “Staff Appreciation Lunch” for the staff and teachers to include a gift to every one of them at the school. We love the students, teachers, and staff of Wakonda Elementary and want them to know just how much we appreciate them…they are special!
